The capacity of objects to embed culture means that they can also be used to influence and re-imagine worlds.

As a research based maker, I use my fluency in a range of craft practices to create objects and bodies of associated research with the aim of building and restoring the understanding of otherness to this diverse world through the combined intra-cultural uses of material, pattern, use and form.

It is vital to my work that I collect and log various ways of making and interact with a wide range of materials and techniques in order to explore how the embedded syntax of objects may be used as a semiotic catalogue of material research.

I speak more about the ideas behind this here.
